Murals / Trompe l'Oeil.

Murals can open up and enhance artistically the interior space of a room, and give depth to any blank wall. It can give colour, light and a sense of humour and make any surroundings cheerful.

I work for corporate and private clients. When I understand their requirements, I provide a sketch to ensure everyone is happy before I commence the work.

Customer Testimonial.

Early in 2006 I started to search for a mural painter who would do justice to my beautiful double balcony overlooking the sea. I knew what I didn't want, but was not entirely sure about what I did want.

Ceri Stone was recommended to me and since I liked her work I asked her to visit the flat and see the balcony. There upon we embarked on a long e-mail correspondence; Ceri would suggest things, I would obfuscate; she would try to approach the project from a slightly different perspective and I would quibble. She was immensely patient with me and gradually, thanks to some excellent research she did we agreed on a design - delightfully and loosely based on a theme by Piero di Cosimo.

Ceri worked hard, well and sensitively. She is a wonderful and imaginative painter who adapts her style and approach to the individual task in hand. I am absolutely delighted with my balcony - not only is it great fun and a wonderful painting in its own right, but it blends terribly well with the background of the sea and as the sun light fades and the moon light appears it seems to acquire a luminosity of its own.

Ceri is also incredibly neat and tidy and clears up after herself every day and it goes without saying she is completely honest.

I could not recommend her more highly - she really deserves to go far.

The commission was to enliven a corner of this French village by transforming the dreary effect of closed shutters at times when the house was unoccupied.

I painted fake shutters on the wall alongside the real closed shutters, and then painted trompe l'oeil windows on the visible part of the closed shutters.

Customer testimonial.

Dear Ceri,

I can't tell you how delighted I am with your fantastic trompe l'oeil work on my shutters and adjoining wall. For years I had promised my neighbours that I would think of some way to make the windows overlooking the road a bit more cheerful when the shutters were closed in my absence. You were so good, and so inspired at interpreting the brief - and I can't believe it took you less than a week to execute it.

I get a real kick out of seeing them every time I arrive. In fact I like them so much that I often keep the roadside shutters closed when I am in residence; it makes the hallway a bit dark, but it is such a pleasure to see them from the outside! My neighbours love the fake windows too - in fact people come from far and wide to marvel at them, I am told.
